Since it’s founding in 1855 Saffery has been constantly developing, growing its skills, its scope and its exceptional team. Over generations they’ve been at the forefront of adaptability and change, and that sentiment has carried over to the way we do things at Saffery Trust. To the world and our circumstance, to clients and their needs, we have underpinned everything with a unifying expertise and wisdom. Following a century of delivering exceptional client service in the UK, and independent stand-alone business, and Saffery Trust’s first office was opened in Guernsey in 1977. Separate from Saffery LLP, but grounded in its heritage and culture. We became one of the largest independent service providers on the island and continue to be at the forefront of private client service.
Guided by where our clients needed us most, and the growing demand for Saffery Trust’s services, resulted in the opening of our second office, this time located in Switzerland. With the Geneva office opening in 2008, followed by the addition of our Zurich office in 2012.
With a continually growing Middle Eastern client base, we opened a representative office in the Dubai International Financial Centre. Our Dubai office provides a gateway to connect professionals and clients to our global network.
In 2020, we launched a Cayman offering to give our clients access to another jurisdiction with a great infrastructure, robust laws, and specialist advisors. We operated in Cayman for two years under a licensed trust company, before attaining our own license from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and opening a stand-alone office in 2022.
As tax rules over the last decade made it increasingly attractive for high-net-worth individuals and families in the UK to settle their wealth in UK trusts, we identified an opportunity to provide our award-winning trust and corporate services from the UK, enhancing our international offering. Our UK services launched in 2025, marking the sixth Saffery Trust office and further strengthening our global footprint.
