Saffery Trust has published its latest Responsible Business Report, showcasing the Group’s continued commitment to creating long-term positive impact for its people, clients, communities and the environment.

The report brings together responsible business activity, highlighting progress in employee wellbeing, community engagement, environmental sustainability and responsible governance.

A key milestone during the reporting period was the launch of Vivabalance, Saffery Trust’s Group-wide wellbeing strategy. Designed to support colleagues across four core pillars – physical, mental, social and financial health – the framework provides a structured approach to fostering a healthy and supportive workplace for all employees.

The Group also undertook its first Great Place to Work® survey, receiving exceptional feedback from colleagues across all jurisdictions. The results highlighted the firm’s inclusive culture, strong sense of community and commitment to supporting employees both professionally and personally.

Complementing the Vivabalance strategy, offices delivered a range of wellbeing initiatives tailored to their local teams, including regular visits from wellbeing animals such as Leeloo the French Bulldog and FIKA gatherings in Guernsey, regular yoga and educational sessions in Switzerland, fundraising events and activities designed to encourage connection and wellbeing throughout the year.

Environmental sustainability continued to be a key focus, with the Swiss office leading the way through significant reductions in carbon emissions as part of its ongoing sustainability journey. Across the Group, practical green initiatives remain embedded in day-to-day operations, supported by longstanding community partnerships including Almighty Tree in Switzerland and the Little Cayman Museum, which the firm supports as a Silver Sponsor through the National Trust for the Cayman Islands.

The reporting year also marked an important step forward in the Group’s sustainability strategy with the completion of its Double Materiality Assessment. The findings were presented to the Board and will play a key role in shaping the next phase of the firm’s business and responsible business planning.

Recognising that sustainable business extends beyond environmental considerations, the report also highlights continued investment in governance, data protection and cybersecurity. During the year, the Group maintained its Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications, demonstrating its commitment to protecting client, employee and business data through robust security standards.

Community support remained at the heart of the firm’s responsible business approach. This year marked a significant milestone as Saffery Trust celebrated its 10th anniversary as headline sponsor of the Saffery Rotary Walk, one of Guernsey’s largest annual fundraising events. For more than a decade, the firm’s support has helped ensure that funds raised continue to go directly to local charities and community causes.

Across all jurisdictions, colleagues continued to make a positive contribution through charity fundraising, volunteering, staff sponsorships, community partnerships and Christmas donation initiatives, reflecting the firm’s longstanding commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates.

Philip Radford, Director and Responsible Business Lead at Saffery Trust, said:
“Responsible business is about taking a long-term view and ensuring we create value beyond our core services. Whether through supporting our people, strengthening our communities, reducing our environmental impact or investing in strong governance, we recognise the responsibility that comes with our position as an international business.”
“I am particularly proud of the progress made during the year, from the launch of our VivaBalance wellbeing strategy and outstanding Great Place to Work results, to the completion of our Double Materiality Assessment and the continued dedication our people show in supporting charitable and community initiatives. Together, these achievements demonstrate our commitment to doing the right thing and creating a positive impact wherever we operate.”
